Scan Barcodes Day 7

Story:

Lesson Summary:

Students combine what they learned from the bounce in borders and obstacle detection days.

What You'll Do:

Program your robots to knock other Edison robots out of the ring. For this activity, students need to scan the barcode because they don't have enough coding experience yet. Use the STEMTaught robotic Sumo mat or make your own ring. Have students create something on top of their robot before they go into the ring. Allow students to create their own renditions of this game. An idea is to have students joust until one robot knocks off parts of the other.

Materials
List

  • Chromebook or other computer (If they are coding)

  • Print out of the barcodes (If you decide to use these)

  • Edison Robot (1 per student)

  • Legos & tray (1 per student)

  • Electrical tape or balck markers and paper (if they want to build their own ring)

  • Other small objects to knock out of the ring
