Story:

Lesson Summary:

Students program their robots to detect obstacles and turn around before they run into them.

What You'll Do:

Program your robot to detect obstacles and turn around before hitting them. run the program and write down how many seconds you put in the program for the Edison's 'drive backwards' block and 'right turn' block. Students come up with and draw their own way for their robot to detect and alert of an object in the way.

Materials
List

  • Chromebook or other computer (If they are coding)

  • Edison robot (1 per student)

  • Legos & tray (1 per student)

  • Obstacles detected by the robot (books, boxes, etc.)
